The Lighthouse Diplomatic Quarter

The Lighthouse Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh is set within one of the city’s most significant and symbolic districts. As a centre for international relations, the Diplomatic Quarter represents dialogue, openness and exchange, making it a meaningful setting for a contemporary hospitality destination. Archer Humphryes conceived the concept and interior design as a confident yet understated response to this context, creating a space that feels calm, welcoming and purposeful. Building on our previous collaboration with the brand at Lighthouse Dubai Hills, the Riyadh location is an evolution rather than a repetition, shaped by its setting and the cultural significance of its surroundings.

The project sits within the wider transformation taking place across Saudi Arabia, where social spaces and dining culture are becoming central to everyday life. As lifestyles shift and expectations evolve, there is increasing value placed on environments that support community, conversation and quality experiences. The Lighthouse Diplomatic Quarter reflects this change through a layered and tactile interior language, using natural materials, soft tonal contrasts and carefully articulated spatial zones. The design encourages both lingering and interaction, accommodating informal meetings and social dining while maintaining a level of refinement appropriate to its prestigious location. Subtle references to local texture and craft ensure the space feels rooted in place, contemporary yet culturally attuned.

Conceived during a period of rapid national change, the Lighthouse Diplomatic Quarter reflects a broader confidence in Saudi Arabia’s evolving urban identity. The interior prioritises atmosphere, longevity and human experience over overt gestures, allowing the space to remain relevant as the city continues to grow and diversify. Its shortlisting for Interior Design of the Year – F&B at the CID Awards 2026 Saudi recognises the strength of the concept and its execution, as well as its resonance within the Kingdom’s transformation. The project demonstrates Archer Humphryes’ ability to translate a proven hospitality concept into a new context with sensitivity, clarity and enduring appeal.
